Honey Peanut Butter Blossoms
Recipes
Peanut butter and chocolate are a perfect combo. Peanut butter and honey are a perfect combo. So, logically, peanut butter, chocolate, and honey cookies may just blow your mind. It’s science.
If you don’t see these cookies everywhere during the holidays, something is terribly wrong, and you need to make some right now. @munchiesbymallory has gifted us a recipe for Honey Peanut Butter Blossoms that uses 100% U.S.-made Local Hive Honey – Great Lakes varietal. Of course, you can use whichever Local Hive is your favorite – each one has floral notes from its specific region, so there are tons of options to try.
Ever wonder how these cookies came to fame? They were created way back in 1957 when Freda Smith of Ohio was making peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and noticed she didn’t have any chocolate chips. But she did have a bag of Hershey’s Kisses on hand, so she plopped them on top.
The melty chocolate, nutty dough, and sugar coating turned these cookies into an instant hit. They even placed in the 1957 Pillsbury Bake-Off contest and, in 1999, were one of ten recipes inducted into the Pillsbury Bake-Off Hall of Fame. Chef’s kiss!
