Paired with a scoop of ice cream (for dessert) or greek yogurt (for breakfast), this sweet, crunchy recipe hits all the right notes. And there's no need for any refined sugars. The mellow, citrusy, and fruity notes in every drop of Cali Valley add plenty of warm sweetness that makes the recipe taste truly homemade.

Honey Apple Crisp Recipe

Yield: 8 servings

INGREDIENTS

Apple Filling
3 lbs apples Honeycrisp or Granny Smith
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup Local Hive Cali Valley Honey
2 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
⅛ teaspoon cardamom

Oat Crisp Topping
½ cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
½ cup Local Hive Honey
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
1 cup whole rolled oats
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter or spray a 10-inch oven safe skillet or large baking dish with baking spray and set aside.
2. Peel and slice your apples into ¼”-½” thick slices.
3. Add the apple slices, lemon juice, vanilla, honey, cornstarch, and spices to a large bowl and toss everything together until the apples are well coated.
4. Pour the apple filling into the prepared skillet and set aside.
5. For the topping, whisk the melted butter and honey together in a medium mixing bowl until well combined.
6. Fold in the flour, oats, spices, and salt until well combined.
7. Spoon the filling on top of the apples in the skillet. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbly and thickened.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and an extra drizzle of honey. Enjoy!

Store leftovers covered tightly in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or the whole skillet in the oven at 350°F for 20-30 minutes to return it to a freshly baked state.
